Samsung Galaxy Book Go Review

Design & build quality:

The body of this Samsung laptop is made of plastic, but it is difficult to understand at first glance. Build quality is good. We had the silver color variant for review which we liked. This laptop is US Military Standard (MIL-STD-810G) certified, which means it can easily withstand high temperatures, thermal shocks, vibration humidity, etc.

You cannot remove its battery like an ordinary laptop. The design of its hinge is such that when the laptop is opened and turned more than 90 degrees, the laptop rises slightly from the back. This laptop is quite slim and its total weight is 1.38 kg. So overall we have no complaints regarding design and build quality.

Display:

The Samsung Galaxy Book Go has a 14-inch LED display. There is no touch support with the display. The display is of full HD resolution. Samsung has not said anything officially regarding the brightness of the display but probably the brightness is 225 nits. In such a situation, there is some problem in outdoor.

The color range of the display is 62% sRGB gamut. There is no problem with the display while doing basic work, watching movies, or viewing photos. The display of the laptop comes with an anti-glare coating.

Performance:

With Galaxy Book Go you get Windows 11 Home and also get Qualcomm processor. At first glance, many people may be shocked by Qualcomm’s processor. The laptop has Snapdragon 7c Gen 2 processor which is a good processor for the company’s laptop. The laptop did not bother us during the review in basic use. Apps open easily and do not take much time to start. Samsung has disappointed by not providing an HDMI port in it.

The performance of Galaxy Book Go is quite similar to Acer Swift 1 and Lenovo IdeaPad 3i but it also has the support of Samsung’s ecosystem which is a big thing. You can easily connect Samsung earbuds to it. Apart from this, you can share its screen on Samsung’s tab and easily share content between two Samsung laptops.

Overall, Samsung’s ecosystem is what makes this laptop special. We did not face any problems with the touchpad. This laptop handles normal multitasking but due to less RAM, there is difficulty in heavy use. You will miss the optical drive in this.

Connectivity Options:

  • 2 x USB Type-C Ports
  • 1 x USB 3.0 Port
  • 1 x MicroSD
  • 1 x Sim
  • 1 x Headphones/Mic combo

Battery Backup:

During our review, Galaxy Book Go provided about 8-10 hours of video playback, which may not be the best but would definitely be called decent. There is fast charging with it but the charging is slow. This laptop gets fully charged in about three hours with a 25W Type-C charger.

The plus point is that you can also charge it with your phone’s charger. The laptop has 1.5-watt stereo speakers whose sound is decent. There is no problem in watching YouTube videos and making video calls etc., but it would be better to use headphones for watching movies.

Conclusion: Samsung Galaxy Book Go Review

So overall, Galaxy Book Go is a bit expensive in terms of the market. Some are better in this and some are not. While the design and build quality are good, the lack of storage and RAM is disappointing. According to Samsung’s claim, Galaxy Book Go is good for students if they want to spend money on brand value.
