It is about three years since OnePlus entered the TV segment with its premium OnePlus Q1 and Q1 Pro. OnePlus TVs are considered good with great features and good build quality. One can easily trust the brand as it has established itself in the Indian market with a good reputation. Recently OnePlus launched its new U series TVs although these TVs don’t come with QLED panels, they offer IPS panels at a budget-friendly price.
The OnePlus U1S TV comes in three different sizes; 50 inches, 55 inches, and 65 inches. There is no other major difference except the screen size. Currently, the OnePlus 50U1S(50 inches) comes at 39,990 Rs, 55U1S(55 inches) at 45,990 Rs, and 65U1S(65 inches) at 62,490 Rs. I will review the 65 inches model of the OnePlus U1S TV. It is one of the best budget-friendly TVs that come with good features and great audio quality. I will discuss the main features of the TV in detail and also full specifications with the conclusion.
OnePlus U1S 65 inches TV Review
Design and picture quality:
The OnePlus U1S comes with an IPS panel with 4k resolution, it also supports HDR 10, and HDR 10+. But unfortunately, the TV does not have Dolby Vision. You will never get the chance of complaining about the picture quality of the TV as the OnePlus U1S has amazing Picture quality. The picture quality is really impressive, although you can not compare it to the TVs with OLED or QLED TV.
Comparing it with those expensive TV is foolish as this OnePlus U1S TV is a budget-friendly TV, although color accuracy and tones look very close to what we see colors on a very expensive TV. The blacks look even better which is amazing to see on its IPS panels and the quality remains the same viewing from different angles. Play any show on this TV, the tones, color reproduction, brightness, and sharpness are just amazing. It has also the ability to upscale the regular 24FPS and 30 FPS content to 60FPS without any lag or stuttering.
Sound quality:
Although the TV supports Dolby Atmos, the sound quality is not really impressive. However, the regular updates have improved the sound a little bit. You can connect a speaker or any soundbar to this TV, as the TV supports Dolby Atmos, and you can definitely increase your experience.
The audio of this OnePlus TV is tuned in collaboration with Dynaudio. It comes with Bottom-firing speaker units with 30W output. As we usually don’t like the TV’s inbuilt speakers, especially on a budget TV, this OnePlus U1S TV did a good job. The speakers are not that bad. The sound is loud enough to enjoy your favorite movies and song. Clarity and loudness are fine, although the bass is not that loud and rich. But I would highly recommend you connect this TV to an external speaker or a soundbar if you want a next-level experience.
Connectivity Options:
If we talk about the connectivity options of the TV, it comes with 3 HDMI ports and 2 USB ports. The TV also supports an RF port, optical port, and AV port. It also comes with dual-band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.0. The remote control of the TV has now a new and attractive design and it comes with a better build quality which makes it quite solid.
Smart Features:
OnePlus U1S TV also comes with Android TV 10 with a layer of OxeygenPlay on top like all other TVs. It comes with Hybrid OS which lets you operate in either of two with a click of a button. The TV comes with a lot of customization options, features, and modes although its look is not cluttered or ugly. The features of the TV are so simple that even younger kids can navigate this smart TV with ease. The TV has numerous casting options such as Chromecast, Miracast, and DLNA you can use any of them to mirror your phone with the TV.
Like most smart TVs, this TV also supports Google Assistant which seems quite accurate and fast. All you need to say is just ‘Ok Google’. Apart from these features, it also has other useful features such as Data Saver Mode which does not consume much data, parental control using Connect app, and a screentime monitoring feature as well. You can use your phone as a remote control through the OnePlus Connect app and also play media using your phone. The TV can also detect TWS buds and pair them quickly, you can also use your OnePlus watch as a remote control.

It is a good TV with great picture quality, I like the IPS panel of the OnePlus U1S. It produces good picture quality and works well for a variety of content. The speaker’s sound is also good although it does not have high bass. Although the TV does not support Dolby Vision, you can connect the TV to a Dolby Atmos soundbar which is a good thing if you want to increase your sound experience. You can also control the TV via the OnePlus Watch or smartphone application.
