Apple Iphone 15 Review – how different from iPhone 14

Apple has recently launched its iPhone 15 series on 12th Sept 2023. The sale of the latest iPhone has also started. The iPhone 15 series has been launched at the same starting price of Rs 79,900 as before. iPhone 15 is the base variant model of this series. Many changes have been made to this phone compared to iPhone 14.

This time iPhone 15 has been introduced with Dynamic Island, a 48-MP rear camera sensor, these features were earlier available only in the Pro variants. Talking about other changes, the iPhone 15 has a Type-C port and an aluminum build. We have used iPhone 15 for a few days. Let us know in detail in the review whether you should buy an iPhone 15 or not.

Design and Display:

This time the new iPhone has been introduced with many changes in design and ports. The biggest change in the display is the dynamic island given in the base model of the iPhone 15. The phone has a 6.1-inch display, which comes with a 60 Hz refresh rate, at least the brand should give 90hz, peak brightness of up to 2000 nits, and is always on display. That means you get to see a big change in brightness. However, the display size is given as before.

The phone has an aluminum design and the back panel is made of glass with a matte finish. There is a ceramic shield on the front. The sharp edges of the phone have been reduced and curved slightly. Due to this, the iPhone 15 gives a good grip when held in hand and also feels lightweight. Pink color has been added as a new color. Overall, in terms of design and build, the iPhone 15 looks beautiful and durable.

Performance:

The iPhone 15 has been equipped with the processor of the previous iPhone 14 Pro model. It has an A16 Bionic chipset and comes with the latest iOS 17. Talking about other features and specifications, the iPhone 15 has the support of satellite connectivity and crash detection like the earlier model.

Talking about performance, the phone is quite fast. We have played many heavy games with it. Our gaming experience with the phone was quite good, we did not have to face any problems like hanging. However, due to the compact display, there may be some problems in playing games.

You will not face any problems in multitasking with the phone. Apple does not give a chance to complain in this matter. Overall, iPhone 15 is strong in terms of performance. Talking about audio, the iPhone 15 has support for stereo speakers.

Cameras:

This time a big change has been made with the iPhone 15. The base model also comes with a 48-megapixel sensor (aperture ƒ/1.6). At the same time, its zoom capability has also been increased. Along with this, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide angle lens (aperture ƒ/2.4) and a 12-megapixel selfie sensor (aperture ƒ/1.9) are available. The camera comes with many great benefits. First of all, you now get a 2x zoom mode, which was previously enabled by the quad-pixel sensor on the primary camera. Apple has done a great job here.

Additionally, the iPhone 15 now takes 24-megapixel photos by default. You will be able to take only phones without zoom and portrait in 48 megapixels. The detail of the photo is quite good in daylight. The primary camera takes good photos even in low light, but the lack of light is felt at wide angles. In simple language, the photo appears clear even in low light, but sometimes the colors become a little faded.

Apple has added another new feature with the camera. Now you can also convert a normal photo into a portrait photo and also set its focus. In videography, you get the facility of cinematic mode, action mode, and 4K video recording. With this, you will be able to record videos at a maximum of 4K, 60FPS.

Battery Backup:

Talking about the battery of iPhone 15, the company has claimed 20 hours of video playback with it. However, we used the phone for a whole day on a single charge. In normal use, the phone will run smoothly throughout the day.

We played 3 hours of continuous gaming with the phone, in which only 50 percent of the phone’s battery was drained. With this, there is support for MagSafe wireless charging of up to 15 watts and Qi wireless charging of 7.5 watts. There is support for wire charging up to 20W, with which the company has claimed that the phone gets charged up to 50 percent in 30 minutes. Type-C port is provided for charging. It took us about 1.5 hours to charge the phone from 0 to 100 percent.

Conclusion: Iphone 15 Review

Overall, compared to the iPhone 14, the iPhone 15 has been introduced with many changes. If you are looking for a premium phone and your budget is less than Rs 1 lakh, then iPhone 15 can be a good option for you. You cannot compare the iPhone 15 with the iPhone 15 Pro model, but some of the needs of the 14 Pro model can be fulfilled with its regular model (iPhone 15).
